  • Hives

Rylie was a happy camper during lunch time yesterday.  She was chomping on her miyuk gook with bap, dak gwang, fish jun, and gim. In fact, she was saying “yummmmm” and rubbing her belly.
I didn’t notice anything until after she woke up from her nap and saw some red spots on her leg, arm, and left side of the neck. I took her to the bathroom where we get better lighting, and that’s when I realized her rash was spreading. We took her to the hospital and the doc told us they were hives. We’re not really sure what could have caused it since it could be anything from what she ate to a bug bite. To be more cautious, I’m avoiding giving her anything she ate up until her lunch yesterday. She woke up with hives all over her body this morning, but they disappeared quickly after she took benadryl. I haven’t seen her scratch herself much although the doctor told me the spots are rather itchy. Hopefully, the hives will go away soon as I read they mysteriously disappear after 3-4 days.

Enjoying her lunch. This girl loves her miyuk gook.

    Pics of the hives

Still happy in her little blue gown. I must say she enjoys going to the hospital and eating her medicine.

The weather’s been pretty gloomy, so we’ve been spending our play times mostly indoors. Rylie’s become quite an expert at blowing bubbles and I’m sure this is one of the first things she’ll want to do once the weather warms up.

  • that double chin is awesome.  i have the same one.

  • poor rylie..that is THE biggest smile I have ever seen.

  • She still looks so happy.. .what a good girl.

  • ohh that happened to Chloe too, when she was 12 months. She got it after eating various things including egg and miyuk gook (her fave), and fish, but she’s eaten these things many many times before so we had no idea why she broke out in hives. We gave her benedryl also and it went away. So weird.. happenned to Rylie too, I wonder what it was? She’s such a cutiepie in her blue gown. I can imagine her slurping up her medicine LOL

  • poor rylie! isn’t that weird.. ava had 2 allergic reactions too but it wasn’t hives it was more like bumps everywhere and it went away in a couple of days with benadryl too.. we think it was seafood or strawberries but that was almost 6 mths ago and now she’s fine with them! who knows!

  • what a trooper!  :)

  • rylie must be a very good eater! hope her hives went away and she’s back to eating all her favorite food! :)

  • aww rylie!!  But she still looks so happy! =)  Hope it goes away soon….

  • just by looking at the pics, they look like mosquito bites or something.  K’s hives (when she has a food allergies reaction) looks very different from Rylie’s.  K’s hives look more flat with a bigger/wider bump in the middle.  anyway, i hope R gets better soon.  poor thing!  you may want to keep a diary of everything R puts in her mouth for the next few days and see if anything in particular is triggering it.  good luck and feel better soon!
