Happy 100th Day
I can’t believe it’s already been 100 days since Ryder was born. I’m enjoying every second I have with this lil guy and I’ve already forgotten the terrible morning sickness I had for 7 whole months! So far, little man smiles a whole lot and laughs mostly when he’s scared. Another way he laughs is when we tickle his sweet spot on his neck. He can turn from tummy time position to his back (sometimes) and is trying really hard to turn from his back to tummy time position. So far he can only get to his side, but with his strength, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s able to turn w/i the next few weeks. Like his older sis, he cries whenever an older person comes near him… including his grandparents. My grandmother told me that it’s cause old people are ugly and babies like to see and be held by pretty people… lol. I was afraid that the second would be a difficult baby since Rylie was so chill, but Ryder is such an easy baby (so far). He currently sleeps at 6:30pm and wakes up around 3:30am for his feeding. He sleeps for another 2 hours and he’s up by 5:30am. When sleeping, he prefers to sleep on his left side. He drinks about 4-5oz every 2-3 hrs, but can down up to 8oz before bedtime. The most he’s drank is 10oz in one sitting. I think I refilled his bottles 3 times that night and I was in shock that he could drink so much. Afterwards, he had a Santa Claus belly.
Rylie has been testing our patience these days. Although she’s an angel when we’re out, she is very defiant at home. I can tell she is testing her boundaries with us… esp when I see her looking at us from the corner of her eye while she’s doing something she’s not supposed to. She also talks back now! We have no idea where she picked this up from. We still do time-outs, but taking away her toys don’t work anymore. When I tell her that I have to take away her toy for her actions, she replies, “that’s okay.” Someone recently told me that you have to change up the discipline once the child gets to used to one. In any case, I hope this “stage” passes sooner than later.
Rylie is still awesome with her little brother and loves holding (more like smothering) him and giving his kisses. Whenever she goes somewhere, she always brings home something for Ryder. She recently went to a birthday party and came home with a card she made for him.
Here’s a picture of Ryder from his baek-il dinner we had with family.
Ryder is a pouter! We finally got a picture of him in the action. This happened when he heard his sister crying. It’s cute now, but I hope he doesn’t use this later to get out of trouble

Awwwww!! Ryder! I think I love you just as much as I love your sister! I love his pout, and I love his chubbiness, and I love how he looks soooo much like Rylie when she was a baby! Wow, time flies so fast. I feel like you were JUST pregnant only last week! C ya soon!
ryder looks so much like rylie! and what a cute pouter…gonna be a heartbreaker someday!
happy 100 days! that went by so fast. i can’t believe ryder drank 10 oz in one sitting! wow!
as much as i am enjoying the newborn stage, i’m definitely looking forward to E’s 100th days too. as for rylie, it’s definitely a phase. A went through it when K was born, and K is now going through it after E was born. i think it’s just their way of reacting to a new person in the family (who’s getting all the attention
). it will pass, it will pass…
hang in there!
I can’t believe how big Ryder is getting and wow its already his 100 day?? the photos are soo cute and the pouty one is my fave! I have about ten million questions to ask u… Must talk to u soon! Happy 100 day Handsome Ryder!!
happy 100 days to beautiful ryder!!!!! doesn’t time just fly by this time around??
i actually feel better after reading about rylie being “defiant” at home because if you guys have to deal with that (and rylie seems like the ultimate sweetheart), then i don’t feel so alone with jt being a bad listener all.the.time!!!! our director actually said 3s are terrible and then 4s are when our sweet angels return to us. well, i’m halfway done with the 4s and we’re still in the terrible stage. last night, i actually asked t how much more we could possibly take. the talking back is the WORST (in my opinion)…. if you find something that works, PLEASE share! i’m desperate!!!!
@hongfamilia - that gives me so much hope! thanks janet!
@sooae - i’m home all day today since both kids are sick
call me anytime!
@ka_woman - it goes by so fast. that’s why i think i really soak in all the one-on-one time with ryder. i can tell he enjoys it too
i agree with the talking back. y and i were both shocked when it first happened. so far, we’re really consistent with how we discipline her. we also take notice and let her know when she is being really good. when she gets a treat (i.e. ice cream or candy), we let her know it’s because she’s been such a good listener. i’m not sure if these things are helping yet or not. we’re just taking it day by day. i’m not a fan of infant stage, but right now, taking care of ryder is so much easier than dealing with the terrible 3′s.
happy baek il!! awww i love his pouty face! hang in there with rylie’s defiant stage. we’ve gone through this with mia and still are. it is getting somewhat better though as she’s beginning to understand consequences of misbehaving. keep telling her that santa is watching!!
happy 100-il cutie pie ryder!!! can’t believe how big he is already and i’m shocked that he was able to take down 10oz. i have to say that’s the cutest baby pouting face ever! i didn’t even think babies knew how to pout~ lol! rylie being defiant?! she’s one of the best behaved kiddos i know. i totally understand how it could be different at home though. they get all cabin fevery and know they’re in their comfort zone so they try to get away with more. i hope things smooth out though and that things get easier at home too.
@helenxmelon - oh no! I wish I had to seen your message earlier, argh! BOTH kiddos are sick??? Things are a ZOO around here, a ZOO i tell you. gotta call you asap, and hope you can talk when I call!
i can’t believe ryder is already past his 100 day! charlie is 6 weeks now and time is zooming by. hope to see you guys soon…maybe olivia’s 1st bday?
@ciaomilano - yes, we’ll be at the party! See you guys there : ) Can’t wait to meet charlie!
