I am so tired these days. Ryder has been waking up at 5am every morning this week. I try to put him back down after I feed him, be he is wide awake… like smiling ear to ear, cooing, and looking at me as if I’m crazy to put him back down to sleep. He is going through a developmental spurt which could explain his ‘off’ sleeping patterns and cranky moods. Here’s how one mom describes it. Here are some of Ryder’s developments theses days: he learned how to roll to his tummy and back, trying to stand whenever he can, learning how to sit, trying to hold his bottle, and showing interest in food. The hardest part of Ryder waking up early is to trying to keep quiet while his sister is still sleeping… oh and the fact that I love (uninterrupted) sleep. Rylie is an early riser too (6-6:30am), but I would hate to have her start waking up earlier than that.
All last week, whenever I put Ryder down for the night, I had to put him down at the foot of the crib. In a couple of hours, I would find him at the head of the crib. I moved him down a few times during the night because once his head hits the top, he would wake up in frustration. He doesn’t move up anymore, but now he moves in circles… haha.

Omg, I totally feel you on the tiredness level~~I was actually going to call you this afternoon but Elle woke up after only an hour of sleeping!! It’s so frustrating when you think you have established some kind of “routine” and then the next week it changes again…. aaaaaah! butt OMG!! I just watched the first video of Ryder laughing 5x!!!! HE’s sooooo adorable~~ you guys are so so blessed to have such a handsome cutiepie on your hands, how do you stand it?? His grin put a grin on my tired face
i can’t believe how much he looks like Rylie! they are so cute together. I’m sorry you’re so tired. must be so hard adjusting to the second one. i felt like my world was turned upside down when i got Jack. Must be so much harder with a real baby. I can’t believe everyone has a second and third baby already. life is passing by so quickly. And to think we got at least 18 more years of this. Thanks for sharing your videos.
man. i couldn’t focus on ryder on the first video b/c of daddy’s sexy legs. sheesh. and last video is so adorable especially when rylie goes next to ryder. i hope to meet rylie in person one day. tell her to enjoy her prrryday tomorrow.

i totally believe you’re tired but you NEVER seem tired when i see you!! you always seem like you’re handling everything with total ease. c’s been such an easy sleeper but she’s had a fever the last few days so the 2:30 screamfest has been going on at our place!! now i’m afraid that even though her fever is gone, she’s gotten used to waking up at 2:30! in my head, i know it’s just a phase but i still get so scared that it might “stick” u know?? hang in there!! is ryder getting up in the middle of the night or does he just wake up super early?
love the videos! I love seeing siblings interact…so cute! I don’t know how moms of 2+ do it when I’m already tired with just one kid! Hwae-ting!! I just said a little prayer for you. Hope you get some much-needed rest. =)
i give total props to moms with two or more kids! i can barely handle one right now! jacob used to wake up super early, too, at 5:00, and i thought i was doomed for life, but as you know, it gets better! the last video is adorable….i love how rylie hold ryder’s hand…so cute!
@ka_woman - sorry to hear c is sick. I hope she is feeling better now. ryder gets up for a feeding around 3 and will sleep till 5ish. If he gets up at 4:30, he’s done sleeping for the night. he’s done this 2 days in a row now…. sigh…
@missdoya - just curious… what time does jacob get up now?
@helenxmelon - it depends on when he goes to bed. on weeknights, he’s in bed around 8-8:30pm and gets up at 6:30a since i have to go to work…but on weekends if i let him sleep later around 9-9:30, he might get up between 7:30-8:30. i’m hoping as he gets older, he’ll wake up later on weekends cuz i LOVE to sleep in!!!!!
he is so stinkin cute! i can’t believe he is already laughin out loud…i remember when eleni first started laughin…..hope he sleep stretches to be longer soon….rest up mama…and hope to see you soon!
