  • Right after feeding, Youkeun wanted to take some pictures of Rylie. She must have been in a good mood cause she gave daddy a BIG smile.

  • I had to muster up all the courage inside to go out to dinner at Cafe Stella with my girlfriends last night. There are a few reasons why. 1) Rylie doesn't take the bottle, so I have to nurse her. If I'm not there, she'll probably starve. 2) Youkeun can't put her to sleep. Therefore, I must put her to sleep before I leave. 3) If she wakes up, Youkeun is in BiG trouble.

I'm really big on being on time. That is before I had Rylie. With her, I realized that my schedule really depends on hers. I know I have to be somewhere at a certain time, but if she has to feed or take a nap, my plans are on hold. With this in mind, I had to orchestrate how I would be on time for dinner. The only way would be to keep her up from her last nap till the time I had to leave. I fed her at 6pm, started putting her to sleep at 6:20pm. Perfect! I can be in LA by 7:15pm at the latest (dinner was at 7pm). I was just about to leave the house when she suddenly woke up! why, why why?  Youkeun and I gave each other a look and I knew I had to go back in and put her back to sleep. I was finally able to leave around 7:10pm and got to dinner almost an hour late . It was so fun hanging out and dinner was delish. I checked on Youkeun a few times and everything was A-OK!

Rylie went in for her 4 month check up today. Right when the doctor started checking her, she started to pout and cry. It was so cute! I wasn't able to comfort her while she was getting her shots and her face turned cherry red in one second. Then 5 min later, she knocked out in the car and forgot all about her horrible experience

  • Within a span of one week, Rylie has developed so much! I almost feel like she's an adult in a baby's body. Ok... maybe that's an exaggeration, but she's slowly doing adult things in her own way, of course. For example, she can hold her head up for quite awhile during tummy time, flipped two times all by herself, she babbles, likes sitting and standing up with my help, loves watching tv, exercises her arms and legs (sometimes on que), and isn't afraid to show her expressions. I can't wait to see how much more she'll develop in another week.

Youkeun and I started noticing Rylie sleeping with her hand behind her head. I had no idea I slept like that until Youkeun snapped a picture of us while we were taking a nap together. Like mother, like daughter!!!

  • Rylie hasn't found her thumb yet, but she is really intrigued by her hand these days. She loves to try to stuff her whole fist into her mouth and it's the cutest thing when she just stares at it.

She also practices tummy time to strengthen her neck. She doesn't really enjoy this yet, but practice makes perfect!!!

  • This happens at least once a day. Today after feeding, I asked Youkeun to burp Rylie. I then went into our room to work on the computer, but after 30 min of silence I peeked in the living room and found Youkeun knocked out (again).

On another note, I'm slowly getting back into making jewelry while Rylie is sleeping. Here are some pics of my most recent items.

  • Here's Rylie after a warm bath. She loves taking baths and especially enjoys getting her hair washed. She is more alert these days and I've got to say she has some strong arms and legs. She punches and kicks and both Youkeun and I have been victims of hers already.

You can tell by her cheeks and double chin that she is eating quite well. I feel like she eats every hour and feeds for about 30-45 min each time. This results in a very tired mommy.  I can't wait to go to church this weekend. I've been MIA for about a month and it'll be so nice to get some fresh air and see some of our friends!

  • I'm alive!!!  and doing well, although I'm still adjusting to becoming a mommy. Phew... it's a tough job and I have lots of learning to do, but I'm enjoying every moment of it. I'm surprised to say that I don't even mind losing sleep over changing diapers and feeding her (and I loooove sleeping). We are enjoying her different facial expressions, her farts ( i can't tell if it's from Youkeun or from her anymore... Youkeun usually blames it on Rylie now), and the mother/baby bonding times.

Thanks to everyone who have stopped by and just showed us so much love. We also want to thank our awesome CG for taking turns and bringing us dinner every night. You don't know how much that means to us. You guys are the best!!!

  • Here are some tummy pics we recently took. I feel really good overall, but it seems like the baby is getting stronger by the day. Her kicks and stretches are painful at times, but I'm reminded that it's a good sign that she is active and healthy. I also feel her hiccups especially after I eat/drink something really cold. It's kinda cute and funny at the same time. I'm not really sure why I don't have cravings, but I know I enjoy eating fruit, fruit, and more fruit! I love it that so many are in season right now. My favorite are cherries and watermelon. Only two more months to go!

  • Youkeun and I just came back from our relaxing babymoon to the Caribbean. All I remember is food, food, and more food . We were in Ft Lauderdale for a day to just to explore the area before we had to board our huge ship. We took a water taxi and saw rows of homes owned by the rich and famous. We also discovered that there aren't many english speakers in that area and regular taxi is super expensive!

We also made our 4 stops to Key West, FL, Cozumel, Mexico, Georgetown, Grand Cayman and Montego Bay, Jamaica. Even though we felt a little intimidated in Jamaica and didn't want to separate from our group, it ended up being our favorite location. We ate jerk chicken for the first time at the recommendation of our cab driver and it was delicious!!! We even bought the marinade to try to make it at home. We checked out all the beaches at each stop except for Key West and another thing we discovered was that everyyything required money. For ex... the chairs, umbrellas, and sometimes even admission into the beach! Thank goodness CA beaches are free to the public. I admit, the beaches were beautiful and the water was crystal clear.

After this relaxing trip, we had another adventure trying to find my luggage. It was lost and no one at United Air seemed to know where it was. After endless efforts of calling the airline, my luggage (with all my stretchy pants that I desperately need) is finally home today after 3 days

Baby girl is moving in my tummy these days. I can feel a lot of movement especially when I'm trying to go to sleep. She must not like me sleeping already.

Our ship, the Radiance of the Seas, looks soooo small compared to the biggest ship in the world right behind it- Freedom of the Seas (also from the Royal Caribbean)

That chair and umbrella cost us $15!!!! The chair was $10 alone, so we rented one for me while Youkeun frolicked in the water.

My favorite picture of Youkeun jumping into the water from our glassbottom boat. Can you tell he's been working on his six pack?
