  • Annabelle, Elephant and the mad Scientist

Rylie’s best buds these days are Annabelle and the elephant. Poor pekkle is long gone. I don’t know why she has to take Annabelle’s clothes off, but she prefers it that way. The funniest thing is when I see Rylie in her bed trying to feed them before she goes to sleep. For some reason, she thinks babies breastfeed from the tummy. Through the monitor, I can see her lifting up her shirt and laying Annabelle on her tummy to breastfeed her. Then it’s elephant’s turn. After she is done feeding them, she dozes off and falls asleep.

Here is my mad scientist. She put this outfit together from head to toe and insisted on wearing the goggles to protect water from splashing in her eyes. She asked for a bowl of water, took out her paint, and started painting her hand different colors. You can tell from the pictures, she had lots of fun doing this.

I really wanted to dye the pasta for Rylie to make this necklace, but we had no food coloring on hand. Still, while making this, she kept saying, “this is so fun!”

  • Rylie and her GF’s

Last week, we went to visit our friends and Rylie was super uber excited to see her two girlfriends. We don’t get to see them often, but she talks about visiting them ALL the time. They are absolutely adorable having full on conversations by themselves now! We took a moment from their fun play time and took some portraits. Aren’t they the cutest?

This is when they were 3 months old.

  • Let’s go to Heaven!

While Rylie and I were playing, she suddenly said, “Let’s go to Heaven!” I was taken by surprise and replied, “It’s really, really far. It’ll take us a long time.” Her eyes suddenly got big as if she had the greatest idea and said, “We can ride the AIRPLANE!!!” I smiled and said, “Well… do you want to pretend?” She was so excited and said, “Yea!” So off we went to Heaven, then to the beach, and then to the zoo … all in the comfort of our own home.

Here are some recent pics of Rylie.

    Showing off her bling bling!

Daddy decided to get crafty and made Rylie a dress and a hat. Not bad!

  • Toilet Paper Rolls

Not too long ago, Rylie started asking for a trumpet. Every time she would say ” I weally want one,” I told her I would do my best to find one for her. When she asked me again this week I went searching through ‘stuff’ (aka junk) I collect to see if I could make her one instead. Nothing too fancy, but something that would give her the satisfaction of having a pretend trumpet.

I collect containers, jars, and yes… toilet paper rolls because I feel that they come in handy for crafts. I had an “Aha!” moment when I saw the toilet paper rolls. I made the trumpet for her in less than a minute and she was so excited to finally have one. Then she thought for a moment and said, “Can you make me a micafone (microphone)?” I went looking through my “stuff” again and found some more rolls and tissue paper. Below are some pictures of her testing out her microphone and trumpet.

You can tell she’s really into it…lol.

  • Nucleus Co-Lab Holiday Fair

It was my very first time being a vendor at a craft fair and I’m so glad that it was for the Nucleus Co-Lab Holiday Fair. Leading up to the fair, I was nervous about everything! Did I make enough jewelry? How am I going to display everything? How is our table going to look? Are people going to be interested in my jewelry? I can go on and on.
Anyways, the night before the fair, I did a mock up of what my side of the table would look like. I only had 3 ft of space to work with! It took me a good 3 hrs to figure everything out, but I was really happy with the end result. When it was time to set up the morning of, everything came together so nicely.
I met so many talented artists and I was in awe of their creations all around me. Jane and I decided to do more craft shows in the future and I can’t wait! We had a great time and want to thank everyone that came out and showed their support!

  • Questions and more questions

Rylie loves asking questions after questions. It takes a lot of patience answering the same question over and over again, so I like to change it up a bit and shoot the question back to her. Her favorite question is, “And then what happens?”

Another fascination with her these days is the topic of becoming a boy. Our conversation goes something like this.

R: When I be big, I become a boy like daddy?
me: No, you’re still going to be a girl.
    R: Why?
me: Because God made you a girl.
    R: And then what happens?
me: So you’re always going to be a girl and thank God for making you a girl.
    R: And then what happens?
me: You’re going to be a girl like mommy.
    R: And then what happens?
me: You tell me… And then what happens?
R: hmmm…let me think (w/ her pointer finger on her chin). I be girl?
    me: Yes, always.
R: maybe my hair short, I be a boy.

At this point, our conversation goes in circles, but I enjoy every moment of it. Her thoughts are so pure and innocent. I wish it could stay that way forever.

Here is a picture of our decorated Christmas tree. The first thing she said when Youkeun brought the tree home was, “Thank you SO much for the Tristmas Twee.” Since Rylie’s been stuck at home with a cold, we decided to DIY the ornaments. I put yarn through coloring pages I printed out and also made some pom poms. Next year, I would love to do something like THIS.

  • 27 month session

We took Rylie to the park yesterday to take some pictures and she was not enjoying it at all. Also, in the middle the shoot she yelled, “Pee Pee!.” Of course this meant we had to stop everything and find a bathroom quick! She waits till the last minute to tell me she has to go, so I always have to act fast when we are out.  It was very challenging, but Youkeun was able to capture some of my favorite images of her. See the rest on his BLOG.

At 27 months, she is …
    - helping me fold the laundry
    - coloring w/i the lines
    - putting her plate & bowl in the sink after she is done eating
    - still loves taking pictures, but is now posing us
    - her favorite color is pink. previously, it was purple. before that, it was yellow.
    - using her last few pull ups at night. then it’s bye bye diapers… yay!!!!
    - loves singing the alphabet and will challenge herself by singing it really fast.

  • CoLab Craft Show: Dec 13th

I haven’t been able to update my etsy shop much since I’m getting ready for the CoLab craft show on Dec 13th. Yikes~ I can’t believe it’s less than a month away. I promise I’ll update the shop as soon as the craft show is over. In the meantime, if anyone has any custom order requests, please message me!

I’ll be sharing a booth with my super talented friend Jane of Olive Hue. This is the perfect opportunity to buy any last minute Christmas gifts or just stop by and support us!

  • Kimchee and Potty

Rylie ate unwashed kimchee today! We usually wash it for her, but today she insisted on trying the “owange color one.” I put a little bitty piece on top of the rice and waited with a cup of water in one hand and napkin in the other. She chomped and chomped on her food, so I asked, “How is it?” She replied, “Iz weally gooood.” lol… this gave us a good laugh at the dinner table tonight.

Rylie is also wanting to go potty all by herself and asks for privacy as well… already!!! She usually says, “Mommy… wait. Don’t move. I go potty by myself.” I always try to help her get on the big potty, but after I do she tells me, “Go to your room. Close the door.” So I wait outside till I hear the trickling stop to help her wipe. Today, hubby and I were talking in our room when she said, “I be back.” We didn’t think much of it but then we heard, “Mommy, come here!” I asked her where she was when I noticed the bathroom door was closed. I opened it and saw that she had taken off her underwear and pants, sat on the potty, did her business, and asked me to come wipe her. She is growing up way too fast for me!

Here are some recent pics we took in the courtyard of our complex

Rylie and LaLa (she named the scarecrow). There are 2 other scarecrows in our complex that she named. One is C-ya and the other Eunice.

Rest of the pictures were taken by Rylie.
